Some insurance plans require a CDE, or Comprehensive Diagnostic Evaluation, before approving or continuing autism-related services.
Neurokids Center offers remote telehealth CDE evaluations to help families complete the clinical documentation often requested by insurance companies for autism service authorization.
• Review of developmental, medical, behavioral, and educational history
• Parent or caregiver clinical interview
• Review of previous evaluations, therapy records, school documents, or diagnostic reports
• Clinical assessment of autism-related symptoms and functional needs
• Diagnostic clarification when appropriate
• Written documentation and recommendations to support next steps
This service may be appropriate for families whose insurance has requested additional clinical documentation before approving autism-related services, such as ABA therapy or related developmental supports.
It may also be helpful for families who already have concerns about autism and need a structured clinical evaluation to clarify their child’s needs.
CDE requirements may vary by insurance plan. Our team can help families understand what documentation may be needed and whether this service is appropriate for their situation.
